Located just above Dombås, only a 300-meter walk from the town center, Ljoshaugen Cabins and Camping offers stunning views of the valley. The area boasts excellent hiking trails and great fishing opportunities in mountain lakes or the Lågen River.
Ljoshaugen is situated along the Pilgrims’ Route (Pilegrimsleden), making it the perfect stop for pilgrims seeking a break in beautiful and peaceful surroundings. Here, you can connect with nature and experience Norwegian cultural history.
Ljoshaugen Cabins and Camping is also conveniently close to Dovrefjell and the Pilgrims’ Route. In Dombås town center, you will find bike rentals and daily bus departures for Moose and Muskox Safaris in Dovrefjell.
For camping enthusiasts, Ljoshaugen provides excellent facilities for motorhomes and tents. We have recently upgraded our outdoor areas with a large new tent site and several cozy seating areas where you can enjoy beautiful sunsets. Our WiFi covers all cabins, outdoor spaces, and the camping area, ensuring strong signals for motorhomes and tent guests alike.
We also offer a new and upgraded kitchen facility available to our guests, along with doubled capacity in showers and sanitary facilities to ensure a comfortable experience for all visitors.
Ljoshaugen features 20 different rooms, traditional stabbur (Norwegian storehouses), and camping cabins beautifully integrated into the landscape. Bed linens can be rented on-site.
Important to note: A cleaning fee of NOK 150 per cabin will apply to all cabin bookings.
We provide a modern shared kitchen facility for our guests. Additionally, there are several dining options in Dombås town center (300 meters from Ljoshaugen), which you are warmly welcome to visit.

Ljoshaugen Camping is conveniently located near Dombås Station on the Dovre Line. The train journey from Oslo to Dombås takes approximately 4 hours, while from Trondheim, it takes around 2 hours and 30 minutes. From Dombås Station, you can reach Ljoshaugen Camping with a short taxi ride or even on foot, making it easy and eco-friendly to travel without a car.
Taking the train on this scenic route allows you to enjoy Norway’s beautiful landscapes while reducing your carbon footprint.
