The Kvitfjell World Cup is much more than a ski race.
It is also home to a folk festival for all ages with a full programme both day and night. The entire area gets involved. The ski facility extends its opening hours during the festival for skiing.
Kjetil Jansrud is the King of Kvitfjell as it’s his home turf. This year, his toughest competitor was another Norwegian, namely Aleksander Aamodt Kilde who has shown an impressive performance this season. And you can always expect the unexpected at Kvitfjell. This time it could be Adrian Smiseth Sejersted.
Kvitfjell WC and Kjetil Jansrud is a special story. Seven times he has graced the top of the podium on home soil. Last year he came to Kvitfjell as a fresh world champion from Åre after a troubled season. And once again ended up on the podium. This year there’ll be no championships. Kjetil hasn’t hidden his intentions to defend his title, but competition is tough at Kvitfjell. Dominik Paris from Italy won both races last year and remains a favourite this year..
