Dovrefjell is the only place in Norway, and one of very few places in the world, where you can see the musk ox. Come join us on a musk ox safari from Frich's Hjerkinnhus.
You are almost guaranteed to see this magnificent animal on this excursion. We run musk ox safaris from June to September, and a safari last about six hours. You will be guided by local tour guides from Moskus Safari Dovrefjell in the search for the musk oxen at Dovrefjell. The trips fit everyone, is a 7-15 km walk and lasts about 6 hours, depending on the weather and how fit the members of the group are. We recommend that you bring warm/wind proof clothes and good hiking boots, as we will ascend to above 1.000 m above sea level. Bring a packed lunch and drink. The guide will bring a telescope.
The safari runs daily from the middle of June to the middle of August. The rest of the year the safaris must be pre-booked.
