With its impressive size and magnificent antlers, the majestic moose is rightfully called the “King of the Forest”. The Nordic moose is the biggest land animal in Northern Europe. And there are many of them around Dovrefjell!
Dovre & Lesja Aktiv organizes both the musk ox and moose safaris. While the musk ox safari starts in the morning, the moose safari starts later in the evening. Included in the moose safari is a presentation about the moose and other animals that live in the Dovrefjell area. In addition to spotting the majestic moose, you will have good chance of seeing many other animals such as deer, fox and different birds.
This safari is done by car/minibus, and therefore suitable for all. Minimum age is 6 years.
Dovre & Lesja Aktiv offers this safari every evening from June 20 – August 20. Outside this period, the moose safari can be booked with a private guide.
