The Peer Gynt Festival has an extensive program comprised of unique concerts, an art exhibition, organised trekking in the mountains among many other attractions. The main event at the festival is the performance of the play "Peer Gynt" on Lake Gålå.

The theatrical performance at Lake Gålå shows the authentic Peer Gynt. Performed on a unique outdoor amphitheatre set in the Norwegian mountains where Peer Gynt once roamed, you will get a close encounter with Norwegian culture, music and nature.

The play is accompanied by music inspired by the original "Peer Gynt Suit" by the Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg, and if you look closely, you will recognize scenes inspired by the Norwegian painter Edvard Munch's paintings.
